About the role

Our Head of Product is responsible for designing and distributing highly engaging products, services, and experiences that attract and retain members as well as providing strategic advice to the ELT on the direction of the product suite.

Responsibilities

PRODUCT STRATEGY

  • As a member of the Police Bank Leadership Team, lead and drive the delivery of the strategic agenda, providing strategic product advice to the Chief of Product and Marketing Officer on significant matters affecting the delivery of products and services.
  • Lead the strategic design and delivery of the bank’s product strategy; maintaining, designing and building market leading products that deliver member centric features benefits and experiences.
  • Identify market needs and requirements that meet Police Banks strategic and business objectives.
  • Manage the integration of new product development into existing product management processes.
  • Develop and maintain a human-centered design framework within the bank
  • Create member centric propositions and experiences to differentiate Police Bank in the market

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT 

  • Responsibility for end-to-end product ownership with a key focus on product development, maintenance and internal monitoring activities.
  • Lead and manage product governance requirements in line with the product governance framework
  • Drive the execution of the product lifecycle processes for all products, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development and delivery stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of new products.
  • Provide regular briefing, updates and recommendations to the key Committees and Executives as they relate to emerging industry, competitor and member issues in respect of product market, competitive landscape, performance, and member impacts in relation to product
  • Define the pricing strategy – taking into consideration all key internal and external drivers
  • Analyse margin, volume, market share and profitability and set targets, while ensuring the sustainability of the member journey and product by meeting agreed financial targets
  • Management of pricing (fees and interest rates) and the proposal of changes.
  • Determining and formulating business and product requirements for existing and new products and services within the legislative and regulatory frameworks and inline with customer interests
  • Monitor and evaluate the products, services, distribution taking into consideration cost, price, interest rate policy, product features, benefits and adjust or recommend adjustments as required
  • Develop and enhance products in a profitable and appropriate way to achieve business goals

RISK

  • Mange and resolve incidents, events and issues and determine improvements required for the product or service; proposing and implementing structural improvements to work processes, products, services or channels and identifying strengthening controls for members and Police Bank to ensure the products we sell meet regulatory compliance standards

PEOPLE CULTURE STAKEHOLDERS

  • Lead the team to develop and implement short and long-term product strategies, grow existing products and develop new products that are aligned with the Group’s strategy whilst maximising key member/client satisfaction, retention and acquisition metrics.

About you

  • Extensive experience in a head of product role across home lending and/or every day is a must. Senior Managers with experience across these areas looking to step up will also be considered.
  • Previous people leadership experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • A strong track record in product design, pricing strategy, and product governance
  • Deep understanding of market trends, member needs, and regulatory environment
  • Experience leading and inspiring diverse teams to deliver meaningful results
  • Strategic acumen, commercial insight, and the ability to translate ideas into action
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a passion for creating positive member outcomes.
