The Role
The Business Analyst supports Remediation Team outcomes by driving the identification and resolution of underlying issues within the bank’s processes and systems. You will also provide actionable recommendations that ensure remediation efforts not only address immediate issues but also prevent future reoccurrences.
Responsibilities
- Analyse, investigate and triage the bank’s existing retail products to identify compliance gaps, potential risks, and areas for improvement.
- Review product documentation, policies, and procedures to verify alignment with the bank’s standards and legal requirements.
- Analyse and investigate remediation issues to identify root causes,
- Evaluate member complaints, feedback, and market trends to identify potential issues within product offerings.
- Complete portfolio analysis to identify systemic issues that may impact operational processes or member experience.
- Develop and implement remediation plans to address identified issues, ensuring minimal customer impact and regulatory risk.
- Keep up to date with changes in regulatory requirements affecting banking products and ensure that the products are adjusted accordingly.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining product issues, risks, and proposed corrective actions.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, issues, and outcomes related to remediation activities.
About you
- Demonstrated experience as a Business or Remediation Analyst conducting product reviews and/or managing remediation processes in the retail banking space. Candidates with similar experience from other areas of financial services will also be considered.
- Happy to take on a 6 month contract
- Understanding of product life cycles, including product development, monitoring, and retirement processes.
- Understanding of consumer lending and financial crime is desirable but not essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, accounting or commerce.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and business
- Ability to identify potential risks related to products and services and assess the impact of non-compliance or operational issues.
- Highly meticulous when reviewing product documentation, transaction data, and compliance reports to spot discrepancies or errors.
- Ability to stay organised and manage time efficiently, even under pressure.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel) to support remediation efforts.
