The NSW Police Force Peer Support Program offers assistance and support to employees during and after times of personal or professional distress. This is achieved by providing a network which is voluntary and:
- Provides an environment of confidentiality and trust within the scope of the NSW Police Force Code of Conduct and Ethics
- Assesses the need for referrals to health professionals
- Complements the existing support resources available to employees of the NSW Police Force
The Peer Support Program holds a biennial conference for the benefit of all active Peer Support Officers (PSOs) across the state of NSW with a view of achieving these objectives. The program currently has around 1200 active PSOs, both sworn and non-sworn.
The conference will comprise presentations from members of the NSW Police Force and also external agencies. The conference will provide the opportunity for PSOs to network and obtain information to further develop their skills to continue to provide valuable assistance to their peers.
Police Bank are proud to be supporters of the Peer Support Officers Conference 2017.
