In 2017, the New South Wales Police Force will once again undertake the journey across the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. The Special Olympics World Winter Games are being held in Schladming and Graz, Austria in late March 2017. The Australian Police Rugby Union (APRU) will embark on a 12 day tour of the South Island of New Zealand. The team will play selected Police teams in Christchurch and Dunedin before an international game in Queenstown on Anzac day against the combined New Zealand Police. The Remembrance Bike Ride supporting NSW Police Legacy enters it's 5th year in 2017 and will see dedicated riders travel 300km from the Wall of Remembrance in Sydney's Domain to the National Police Wall of Remembrance in Canberra. Over it's time, the ride has raised over $300,000 and has become one of the biggest fundraisers for NSW Police Legacy. This event helps to recognise local police for outstanding acts of kindness, compassion, courage or devotion to duty. It is part of Rotary's Community Recognition Program and allows the local community to show their appreciation of the work the Police undertake on a daily basis.
