Allianz impact and response
As a result of the ongoing bushfires throughout NSW, our preferred insurer Allianz has provided the following information for Members who are insured through Allianz to assist in the process in the putting a claim or to assist with a policy.
“As a result of the ongoing bushfires across New South Wales, it has been reported that more than 200 properties have been destroyed so far. Fires are still burning in parts of the state preventing access to many of the fire damaged zones and conditions are forecast to worsen through this week.
Allianz mobilised its catastrophe claims team last week and has been proactively assisting member/policyholders with assessments, emergency payments and temporary accommodation. We are in direct contact with all policyholders who have lodged claims so far to ensure they are kept up to date and to provide assistance to them as required.
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has formally declared a catastrophe and continues to operate its disaster hotline – 1800 734 621 – to help people who are not sure which insurer they are with, or who have general inquiries about the claims process. ”
